A few of Western’s finest take advantage of the winter break to chase storms in Jackson Hole.
Mountain Sports Athletes Francesca Pavillard-Cain, CJ Conway, Blake Peyton and coaches Ed Dujardin and Dave Sugnet are tearing it up in Jackson. They left this week to shoot with TwoPlank Productions and ski some great snow over break. Here’s the latest from Francesca:
After a 10 hour car ride from Crested Butte, we finally made it to our destination just outside of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We woke early, got tickets and hopped on an early tram. When we stepped off of the tram, we might as well have been on the top of Mount Everest. We emerged into a whiteout with 75 mile per hour gusts. The weather gave a dramatic tone to those first few turns, I felt completely blind as I made my way down. Luckily, we had Coach Ed , who used to live in the area, to guide us through the blizzard.
The wind and snow made for some great landings, so in true Western fashion, we pushed our limits. We were able to stomp some extreme lines. Since Jackson tends to be a mixing pot of skiers from all over, we got shout-outs everywhere we went. Also, our flashy new jackets combined with our unique line choices had people constantly introducing themselves and inquiring about our team. Overall a great day filled with snow, wind, amazing skiing, and very nice people. It’s currently dumping outside and we are looking forward to some powder skiing tomorrow.
