Trail Running - Western State Colorado Style!

The Western State Colorado University Trail Running Team is a competitive program offering elite coaching, world-class training terrain, and the opportunity to compete in some of the world’s most iconic trail running races.

Athletes compete in events ranging in distance from half-marathon races all the way up to elite 100 mile races. This is not your high school cross-country team; with the Western Trail Running Team you will leave the sidewalks and bike paths behind and dive into the hundreds of miles of legendary single-track which surrounds Western.

Western’s Trail Running Team embraces all athletes with a solid commitment to train, learn and grow as a dedicated member of an ambitious team. The team assembles as a full group between four and six training sessions per week for strength training, interval workouts, long runs, and standard runs. Currently, the team competes at four events in the fall semester, and two events in the spring semester, with many of the team’s competitions offering multiple distance options for athletes to choose from (with coaching guidance). The team will compete in the deserts of Arizona, Utah, and Western Colorado; and the mountains of central Colorado with an eye toward developing well rounded trail runners.

If you’re interested in attending Western to compete as a member of the Trail Running Team, please contact head coach  for additional information. #GoWestern
