Mountain Sports Athletes Morgan Haymans, Matthew Saehrig, Mike Huse, Xavier Martin and Coach Ed Dujardin headed down to the USASA Rocky Mountain Series skicross race at Copper Mountain. Over a hundred skiers from Colorado and beyond participated.

The resort had bluebird days for the entirety of the competition, leading to fast times for all. The athletes had a full day on the course for practice and two days of racing. Western State athletes stepped up to the challenge both days and swept the podium with Morgan taking 1st, Matthew taking 2nd, and Xavier taking 3rd both days for the Open Skier Mens Category.

Mountain Sports skiercross athletes next compete in the Hole Shot Tour at Copper Mountain February 4th through the 6th.
