The WSCU Nordic Skiing Team placed high this weekend at the Aspen Nordic Festival and Owl Creek Chase. The four racers that attended the event were Chris Lange, Sage Smith, Graham Ruhmann, and Justin Barr under the leadership of coach Ansel Schimpff.
Sophomore Graham Ruhmann continues to impress in his first season on the Nordic team with a 7th place finish in the 21km Owl Creek Chase. Senior Chris Lange notched another 2 wins this weekend and has taken the overall lead in the Rocky Mountain conference. Junior Justin Barr, also in his first season with the Nordic team, posted a pair of solid results in both the 10 km classic and the 21 km skate races.
The Nordic team continues to improve as new athletes get more experience and the experienced athletes come into top form. Stay tuned for updates as the team heads to the Cowboy Chase in Laramie, WY late February
