WSCU Trending on the Podium at USASA Southwest Colorado Series

This past weekend the WSCU Park & Pipe Team traveled southwest to Durango where they competed in a slopestyle event at Purgatory / Durango Mountain Resort.  There were 9 competitors including 4 skiers and 5 snowboarders who entered into different categories of the slopestyle event held in the Paradise Terrain Park.

On the morning of the comp on Sunday there was about a foot of new snow on the ground and more falling by the minute! The conditions were somewhat adverse for a slopestyle competition, but all athletes had fun and made the best of the features. The setup of the course included a wallride with a railing, a down-flat box, a down-flat-down kink rail and a long up rail at the top section followed by two jumps.

Competitors were faced with some speed difficulties with the fresh snow, but held their own even if it was on the smallest jump of the park. At the end of the day WSCU turned out some great results and had a blast in the pow following competition.

1^st – Marhsall Kratzer (Senior)
2^nd– Hunter Knoll (Junior)

Men’s Jam Snowboard Age 19-21:
2^nd – Grady Shoop (Junior)
3^rd– Andrew Arnold (Junior)

Men’s Skiing Age 19-21:
2^nd– Robbie Cushman (Junior)

Snowboarding Age 19+
3^rd – Ben Hayden (Senior)
